I was delighted to be invited, by Barry the gamekeeper, to join the final pheasant shoot of the current season. I spent the day shooting too, but with the camera. Since living the countryside I have watched the traditions of rural life unfold in front of me but this was the first opportunity to actually tag along and capture the atmosphere of the day. It was a cold day and started off very misty. You could hear the pheasants but you could not catch sight of them. We traveled around the local area for several hours with a much-appreciated lunch break in the middle. A great experience for me that resulted in nearly 500 images which were later culled down to the top 150.
